How it works:

When floating on the water, sunlight is converted into electricity through Floatron’s solar panels.  This harmless, low power current energizes a specially alloyed metallic electrode below waterline.  This causes the release of mineral ions into the surrounding water, noted by the small bubbles released under the Floatron.  The ionized water now efficiently controls microorganism growth in your pool.  Some contaminants in your pool such as dust, suntan lotion, body fluids, etc. are not affected by minerals.  Therefore small amounts of chlorine are necessary, but other oxidizers such as bromine or oxygen based compounds, can be used. An 80% reduction in the need for chlorine is typical.
