SolarGard® Window Films
Affordable, straightforward window films that are available in a host of colors, densities, and appearances. Home and business owners can find a film in this line to solve just about any problem. The most popular films in this line include the “Stainless Steel” and “Solar Bronze” series, which are more subdued in appearance than the so - called “mirrored” films.

What is solar window film?
Window film systems are micro-thin polyester sheeting that has been processed with various metals and coatings. They are installed on the windows of homes, storefronts, and office buildings in order to reduce heat penetration and block the destructive effects of ultraviolet light on window treatments, interior furnishings, artwork, — and human beings! There are also heavier gauge films available to resist the impact of flying debris in storms or provide a level of security from intrusion. All are backed - in writing - by the manufacturer, with the strongest warranties available in the industry today! The density of the metal will determine how much heat and light will be reduced. Films come in many different densities to accommodate any customer preference.
How do you maintain windows with film?
There are few; if any, over - the -counter window cleaning products that will harm today's films. Many products, however, do tend to leave a "hazy" or "oily"
residue on the film after repeated washings. We have specially formulated window film cleaners available, or you can put 1/2 a teaspoon of liquid dish detergent into a quart spray bottle and fill the bottle up with water. If you
choose, add a few ounces of rubbing alcohol to the soap/water mix in order to make it evaporate faster. Spray a light mist on the window and either squeegee or wipe with a soft paper towel. That's all there is to it!
Can the film be scratched?
All of our films are coated with a scratch - resistant material called "Durogard®". This provides a highly protective capability; however, no film should be subjected to abrasive materials or put in contact with sharp - edged objects. Anything that "cuts" through the metallized coating will be highly visible; showing "daylight" through the scratch. That cannot be polished out or filled, and the film will have to be replaced in order to restore its appearance. You may expect years of perfectly fine appearance under normal circumstances!
