Frequently Asked Questions
Can I paint over Concrobium Mold Control?
Yes. Regular household latex paints adhere very well to Concrobium Mold Control-treated surfaces. If you wish to treat and then repaint a moldy surface, first apply the solution to clean the affected area. Allow to dry and then repaint. To prevent regrowth, retreat the newly painted area with Concrobium Mold Control - ensuring first that the paint is dry.
Can I use Concrobium Mold Control on fabric?
Yes, you can use Concrobium on fabric. In fact, the product is an effective carpet stain remover and will help to eliminate fabric odors.
How do I apply Concrobium Mold Control?
Application is easy. Simply apply undiluted Concrobium Mold Control onto the moldy surface, wipe off any excess and allow to dry. Because Concrobium Mold Control contains no bleaches, acids or ammonias, it is suitable for use on most surfaces. And the product has no odor, meaning you don’t have to open windows or vacate the area after using the product. Concrobium Mold Control can be applied by hand-spray, paintbrush, roller, immersion or airless sprayer. Larger areas can also be treated using a cold fogging machine, which atomizes the product into a fine mist or fog which allows quick, even coating of larger areas. Fogging is also recommended for inaccessible areas where you suspect mold, such as in attics, cellars and inside wall cavities. Areas larger than 30 square feet require
special procedures and individuals trained in remediation. Guidelines for remediation of large areas of contamination have been established by the Indoor Air Quality Association and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Many in the field also refer to the New York City Department of Health, “Guidelines on Assessment and Remediation of Fungi in Indoor Environments”.
For spot applications on surfaces, use Concrobium Mold Control’s 32oz spray bottle or 1 gallon jug as follows:
1. Do not dilute.
2. Apply product on area until evenly wet. Concrobium must come in direct contact with mold to be effective. Allow to dry completely.
3. Clean any remaining stains and residue with a Concrobium-dampened cloth.
4. Do not rinse. Do not use bleach-based cleaners as they may reduce product effectiveness.
5. If surface is subsequently painted or coated with another substance, reapply Concrobium to ensure protection against mold.
